The Open Room is not running yet. Until it is, send a question through the Questions page and you will get a reply.
What this is
A video room where someone waits to talk with you about Expert Giver Groups — what they are, how the Seven Steps work, and how to start a group where you live. Come in with a question, or just to see who is here. You can keep your camera off.
What this is not
This is not a meeting. There is no chairperson, no opening or closing read aloud, no topic, and no shares. Nobody here is your mentor.
It is not confidential the way a meeting is. A meeting says “everything said here must be held in confidence,” and everyone in the room has agreed to that. Anyone can walk into this room. So please do not bring your inventories here, do not name anyone you are resentful toward, and do not share anything you would not want repeated.
For that work, go to a meeting and find a mentor.
House rules
- Be kind. Everyone here is trying to become less selfish, and nobody has arrived.
- Speak about yourself, not about other people’s faults.
- No politics, religion, or public controversy — Expert Giver Groups have no opinion on outside issues.
- No selling, promoting, recruiting, or fundraising.
- Anyone being abusive will be removed from the room.
Would you host it?
The room only works when somebody is in it. If you would sit in the room for an hour a week and answer questions, say so — you do not need to have finished the steps, only to have read the site.
